Still Raining Hard at 1:30pm Saturday

It's still raining hard here at 1:30pm.  The airport is still open, but serious flooding is occurring in Sparks Industrial Area, Wingfield Park, and Idlewild Park.  With the delay in river flows from the mountain run-off -- the worst may be yet to come.

Major flooding occuring in isolated areas around the Truckee Meadows; regional and City emergency operations centers opened!!!

Major Flooding In Isolated Areas. Regional officials report major flooding in isolated areas throughout the Truckee Meadows. Specific areas of concern are:

• Sparks Industrial Area in East Sparks including the Spice Island Drive and Cottonwood Park areas
• Reno Hilton and pond; officials have made the containment of flooding in this area a priority to mitigate any flows that may cross Mill Street and enter Airport property
• Downtown Reno; both Arlington and Lakes bridges are closed as well as Bennett Park
• Mill and East McCarran (water over roadway)
• RiversEdge RV Park near Rock Park has been evacuated
